ABOUT

"Wolf Daddy"

Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Leyton Jay Cougar—many know me simply as Wolf Daddy. My life has been shaped by two great loves: God’s creation and the wild beauty He filled it with.

I grew up on a small farm in Washington State—feeding animals, milking cows, hauling hay, and exploring rivers, forests, rocks, and tidal pools once the chores were done. That early connection to nature prepared me for 30 unforgettable years in the New Mexico mountain wilderness, where I spent 24 years rescuing captive-bred wolves and other exotic canines, giving them a lifetime of safe sanctuary.

Through this work, I traveled the country and spoke to over a million people—teaching that wild animals are not pets, and that Earth is something we are called to steward, honor, and protect. My wolves and I have appeared on the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, National Geographic, NatGeo Wild, NatGeo Latin America, and international TV programs across Germany, Finland, Norway, and more.

Today, life looks different. I’m back in Washington caring for my elderly mother, and pouring my creativity into writing books, designing original artwork, handmade dog treats, and meaningful gift items inspired by wolves, nature, and the stories that shaped my journey.

Wolf Daddy Dog Treats are handmade in small batches — real ingredients only. Every purchase from this website supports DoCa Dog & Cat Rescue in Cavite, Philippines — continuing my mission of compassion and care in a different way.

I am the author of three books (with book four in progress). Nearly all the artwork, shirts, mugs, and designs here are my original creative work.

Beware of impostors. Several people online have used my name and my trademarked Wolf Daddy brand. This website is the official home of the one and only Wolf Daddy,
Leyton Jay Cougar.
